Just when you think you know...

GETTING OUT ALIVE is a phenomenal adventure with layer after layer of surprise! Angel Whitedove has a secret. Arrested for the murder of her parents, she has learned how to make herself blend into her environment. Wearing disguises has become a way of life.

Known nationally, how could a Native American woman with her father's cobalt eyes make herself unrecognizable without them? Between tabloid reporters stalking and the Greys with their black almond eyes constantly on her trail she has had to do her work incognito while living like a nomad in seclusion.

One would think that her life is quite eventful enough. Enter, Darek, Starship Commander from the planet Laren. His sole mission was to bring her father, a fugitive on Laren, home to stand trial. Darek has been a strong defender of his planet's laws. The fact that Laaen is doomed to certain death, as would Angel be because of her lineage doesn't phase the commander. But courage is something he can relate to. Upon discovering her life long suffering and bonding with both Angel and her sole companion Wolf he makes a decision that could cost him everything he has worked so hard for. But learning that the ancient beings that once abducted his people have not gone into extinction changes his views. Deciding to return to Laren without revealing the existence of Angel is completely reversed when his ex-lover Zetara snatches Angel. I can't remember hating a character this vile in many years. I so enjoyed following this pair as they risk both of their lives to protect both of their planets in a race against time and a dangerous dance out of the clutches of the purple haired witch!

Just when you think you have figured it all out, you find yourself starting all over again.

At this point my only regret is that there is no sequel. I look forward to many years enjoying the books by Regina Paul!

GETTING OUT ALIVE is a mystical journey of one woman’s yearning for absolution, written in a style to rival one of the greatest paranormal writers of our time, Dean Koontz. And as his many fans have already discovered, so will those who read the books of Regina Paul discover her talent for transforming the abnormal into the normal, for lending reason to the unreasonable. Her words jump from the pages in all their implausible glory, yet so easily settle into our minds as truth and reality, as we travel along with Angel Whitedove in her struggles.

Only a profoundly talented writer could lead us on a journey where we truly begin to believe the unbelievable. Ms. Paul has proven herself to be a writer of such qualities.

GETTING OUT ALIVE by Regina Paul is one of the best Sci-Fi books I have come across in quite some time. Angel Whitedove’s life has been full of tragedy for too long. She has not felt peace and she is not sure how to get rid of the Greys until a chance encounter with a man who she thought she was supposed to meet. Little did she know that one interview would turn into something she would never forget and a man that would change her life forever. But would she live to see the difference it would make?

The plot of Getting Out Alive left me on the edge of my seat. I never knew what was going to happen next and if they would make it out alive. At the beginning of the book, I wasn’t sure what that phrase even meant when it came to the book, but as the plotline progressed it became abundantly clear that not only did it affect Angel WhiteDove but the Larindon race as well. I found myself rooting for all the wonderfully good characters in the book and hoped that the people who were uncooperative to change would see things differently.

The characters of Getting Out Alive were so real to me that I felt like I was right there with them going through the emotions. I never once felt that the characters didn’t have any substance or were too outlandish to be believable. All of them had personalities and traits that anyone of us could have in the real world. What they faced could happen to us and did happen to us. I don’t know if there are any other worlds but the fact that someone kept trying to take not only the Larindon world over but Earth too just shows how far things could go. I felt bad for Angel Whitedove because of everything she had gone through but in spite of it she kept going on. She was always willing to lend a helping hand and not let anything get in her way even if it meant her life could end. Angel was so intelligent and whimsical at the same time. I began to consider her my friend. I especially enjoyed the companionship she had with her dog Wolf and I know I had something similar to that with my long time cat that has been gone for quite some time. It is something so real and so precious.

Regina Paul knows how to write and put her feelings into words that leave you wanting more. I found it hard to leave the story line and the characters to get anything done.  The other thing I enjoyed the most is that to my standards I felt the book was clean when it came to sexual encounters and language. It never seemed to come across as too much or not useful to the plotline. I hope we see more of these characters somehow because I am curious to see what happens next and if the “Greys” can be defeated for good. My emotions went on a roller coaster because of how this book is so vividly written.  I enjoyed this book from beginning to end and hope to see more by this author. It is one ride that I know I won’t soon forget and will enjoy reading it again and again.

Getting Out Alive is a book that captured my attention from the start.

Angel Whitedove is a woman with a secret that even she doesn’t know. Since childhood, Angel has led a tumultuous life. Aliens started abducting her at a young age and have continued to do so into adulthood. In one terrifying abduction, Angel’s parents were not returned and she was accused of murder. Although never convicted, the news and tabloid reporters haunt her every move so she hides herself away. Even when helping other people who have had horrible experiences with aliens, she wears disguises and masks her identity. But the arrival of a mysterious stranger named Darek causes Angel to start opening herself up and she puts her life in another’s hands. Darek reveals the secret hid in Angel’s parentage and together they began an exciting journey that kept me glued to the pages until the end.Getting Out Alive takes you on a sensual, spectacular trip into worlds previously unknown. This is a book that will definitely enhance anyone’s collection

REVIEWS FOR THE MARK OF THE GUARDIAN

The Mark of the Guardian, by Regina Paul, is a sweet, modern, yet mystical story; about what we see our duties as humans to be, but more importantly what we feel our duties should be. It also takes an intricate look at two souls separated by time and events beyond their control and how their destiny to be together was shaped. Feelings of repression, forced change, and the unequivocal way modern times pushes us to see things as "correct," are expressed humorously where most of us can relate. I truly enjoyed my time spent reading this story and would behoove anyone to take a time-out and step into a world of this world and the next! A well written read.

Regina Paul has given quite a gift to her readers with The Mark of the Guardian.  An intriguing blend of Celtic traditions combined with Native American lore makes this story a delight to read and savor.

Eartha comes home from work annoyed.  She had decorated a tree to represent her native American and Celtic heritage only to have a co worker-change it.  As has often happened in the past when she is upset or angered, Eartha senses a calming presence.  Unknown to her, she has had a guardian looking over her.  This time is different though.  Sensing her upset, he decides to appear to her.  But Gray Eagle cannot seem to return to the ether and has to stay with Eartha.  After her initial shock and confusion, the two build a relationship leading to love.  Neither feels they can act on this love What will happen if he cannot return OR if he must return?

Regina Paul's generosity with the The Mark of the Guardian is her reader's advantage.  Gray Eagle and Eartha are beautiful together as they fulfill their destiny predicted years ago.  So, sit back and enjoy the reading of The Mark of the Guardian.

The Mark of the Guardian is an amazing book. I found it to be too short because I completely fell in love with these characters. Eartha had been alone for so long when she feels someone behind her. Out of this bright light appears a man who says he is her Guardian, Grey Eagle. She believes him but is unsure what to do about his presence in the real world with her.

As feelings begin to grow between the two of them, neither one is sure what to do about it because the time Grey Eagle may have with her is undetermined. Eartha must deal with her feelings and be able to learn to be comfortable with a man. Evil lurks around them but will they be kept safe?

Regina is an amazing author. I have read one of her other books “Getting Out Alive” and found this one to be just as incredible. I do not know much about the Native American culture so I found the little that was explained fascinating. The way Regina weaves her story is one that you will not be able to put down. You have to keep reading to find out what is going to happen next. The descriptions in this book are very well done so that you feel you are seeing the story unfold right in front of you. I was able to feel all the emotions that Eartha and Grey Eagle went through and that was the best part for me.

I would recommend this story to anyone who loves romance with a touch of beliefs from other cultures. I really loved how Regina was able to put the story together and I am looking forward to reading more of her works.
